It was developed by the Technical University and its operating control system was provided by Siemens.

Transportation technology (Siemens Transportation Systems, Volkswagen, German Center for Aeronautical and Space Research), biotechnology (Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research), financing (Nord/LB, Volkswagen Financial Services) and mechanical engineering are all based in Brunswick. Innovative interdisciplinary technologies such as mechatronics, adaptronics, microsystems and bioinformatics, which are applied in all the centers of competence, are located in Brunswick too.
