Few regions in Germany can boast a similar concentration of research institutions with such international calibre. The productive combination of pure research and technology for industrial application enhances an already inspiring working climate. A further incentive is the Brunswick region’s sponsorship of a number of prizes for science and research.
The Braunschweig Research Prize honours internationally outstanding research performed in the fields of technology, the life sciences and cultural sciences. It is worth 30,000 Euros and is awarded every two years. With the award Braunschweig reinforces the important role of science and research in the future development of the Region. The Braunschweig Research Prize is sponsored by the City of Braunschweig. Support is jointly provided by the City of Braunschweig and the BraunschweigResearchRegion (Verein ForschungRegion Braunschweig e. V.).
Prize awarded to individuals or groups working in either academic fields or R&D facilities for outstanding work transferring R&D findings and applying them to economic situations (10,000 €).
Medal awarded for the outstanding life’s work of a scientist, presented in memory of one of Brunswick’s most prominent citizens and scientists, Carl Friedrich Gauß (1775-1855).
